Waking up early - who said you can't buy time28/02/2012

Principles in Life

A few years ago, I used to sleep late. I would wake up just in time to gulp my coffee, dress and rush to work. Generally I always woke up at 7.30 am and I realized that from then on my entire day is a rush, trying to catch up for time. I reach office just a few minutes before work time, then I m overwhelmed with the work load and in the process making many mistakes. By the time I get home late evening, I literally feel run over by many chariots.

Something had to give and it did. One weekend I sat down and tried to identify how I could make things feel less stressful on myself. I made a calculation; the ideal time for me to wake should be 6.30 am. That meant I over slept by an hour every day. (Remember I woke up at only 7.30 am) Now assuming that I'd live another 30 years , that meant 1 hour x 365 days x 30 years = 10950 hours. If you convert that into days it would mean 456 days. Wow, that's more than 1 ¼ years of my life. Amazing isn't it?. I didn't waste another day waking up at 7.30 am. Now thankfully I have conditioned myself to wake up at 6 am. That's reviving 684 days of my "waking" life.

How about you? Is your day a rush? Do you wake up "just in time". Sit down and calculate how many "waking hours" you lose by oversleeping. If it's too many, make amends immediately. You will find how less stressful your life can get. Cause this is another stepping stone to move from good to great.

Well tell me who said you can't buy time ;-) Now you learnt you can and it's for free!
